The Effective Date of this Privacy Statement is January 30, 2015.

This Online Privacy Statement ("Statement") applies to Synchrony Connect and the other web sites, features, applications, online services that post a link to this Statement, whether accessed via computer, mobile device or otherwise (collectively, the "Site"). The Site is owned or controlled by Synchrony, and Synchrony is the commercial operator of this Site, although software, hosting and other functions and content may be provided by Synchrony service providers ("Service Providers") or other companies affiliated with Synchrony ("Affiliates") or merely in a business relationship with Synchrony ("Business Partners"). CAREFULLY READ THIS STATEMENT BEFORE USING THE SITE, AS IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS. This Statement does not apply to any other web sites or any offline activities by Synchrony (unless specifically stated). NOTE: Certain portions of the Site are intended for authorized and approved members only.
This Site is not directed to or intended for individuals under 18 years of age.
This Statement describes the types of information Synchrony and its Affiliates, Business Partners and Service Providers collect from visitors to the Site, what we do with this information, and how visitors can update the information they provide on the Site. This Statement applies solely to information that visitors provide through our Site. This Statement does not apply to other data we collect, including data collected on other sites, such as separate sites operated by Synchrony, our Affiliates or Business Partners, or information visitors may provide to us through e-mail or other means. By using the Site, you agree to our collection, use and sharing of your personal information as described in this Statement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Statement, do not use the Site.

INTERNATIONAL USERS
This Site is controlled, operated and administered by Synchrony and its Service Providers from the United States of America. This Statement is provided in accordance with and subject to applicable U.S. law. If you access the Site from a location outside the United States, your use of the Site is subject to the terms of this Statement.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
Our goal is to treat the personal information you furnish to us through this Site with respect and in accordance with this Statement. If you accept an invitation to join the Site, when you first log in to our Site, you will need to provide your e-mail address and create a username and password. If you do not provide your e-mail address and create a username and password, you cannot use the Site. Once you log in, you will find a profile that includes certain information about your company and your company's relationship with Synchrony, as well as personal information about you that has been previously collected by Synchrony from you or from third parties, such as your fist and last name, title/role, company, location, industry, years of experience, telephone number, e-mail address and any group of community you have joined on the Site. Once you join the Site, you may edit your profile information (other than your email address). You may choose to provide certain additional information through this Site, including your photo, professional and personal interests, topics of interest to your biography, comments, and other personal information. Other users of the Site will be able to see all of the information described above. In addition, any and all Site users, can follow or connect with you once you start using the Site.

Synchrony and our Affiliates use all of this information to:
  • Provide you with products or services you have requested on the Site
  • Service your account
  • Improve our services
  • Develop other products or services
  • Inform you about other products or services from Synchrony and our Affiliates
  • Inform you about events in your area
  • Connect you with other professionals using the Site, including by suggesting other users with whom you may want to connect

The Site offers interactive features and applications that allow users to communicate through the Site. Anything you post to the Site using such features and applications, including any personal information that you choose to post, who you follow, who follows you, your membership in groups or communities, your feedback, your "chatters" or chats, your "Likes," comments and ratings, and comments and "Likes" that you receive, can be read by other users of the Site. We and our Affiliates and Business Partners may also use this information in the ways described above. When you post, your name is displayed along with your post. Your name is displayed as a hyperlink allowing users who click the link to view the information contained in your profile. By participating in and posting to the Site, you consent to allowing other users to access what you have posted and to see your profile, and you consent to Synchrony and its Affiliates and Business Partners using the content of your posts in the manner describe above and throughout this Statement. Please also read our Terms of Use, which provide additional details about materials you upload to the Site.
If you sign up for email notifications on the Site, we may send you notifications and other messages using the contact information we have for you, like your email address. You can control most of the notifications you receive, including notifications regarding things you "like" and notifications about people who comment or mention you in a post, using your notifications settings.
Synchrony may collect and use other and additional personal information about you through the Site if you request, schedule, and/or participate in any communications (including through your interactions with the Site, chats, calls, and video conferences) with a Synchrony representative on or through the Site.
Please note that we do not knowingly solicit information from children under 18 years of age and we do not knowingly market our products or services to such children.

Information We Collect by Automated Means
When you visit our Site, our Web servers collect the name of the domain you used to access the Internet (such as Google.com), which pages on our Site you visited and when they were visited, your Internet browser type and platform, the link that brought you to our Site and any links clicked within our Site. This information may be used by us, our Service Providers, Affiliates and Business Partners to measure the number of visits, average time spent, page views and other statistics about visitors to our Site. We also use these data to monitor Site performance and make the Site easier and more convenient to use.

Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data stored by your Internet browser on your computer's hard drive. Like most companies, we use cookies to collect aggregate and non-personal information to tell us how our online services are used. If you visit our Site, a cookie is used to help us measure the number of visits, average time spent, page views and other statistics relating to our Site. By collecting this information, we learn how to tailor our website and applications to best meet your needs. This cookie by itself does not tell us your e-mail address or who you are and is not used to get data from your hard drive. INFORMATION WE SHARE
When you provide information to us through our Site, we may share your information with Service Providers we have retained to perform services on our behalf. These Service Providers are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. We also may share your information with our Affiliates and Business Partners to fulfill your requests, service your account, improve our services, and develop, inform you about and offer you our products, services, and events. We do not share your personal information with our Affiliates, Service Providers and Business Partners for their own marketing purposes. You hereby acknowledge and provide your consent to Synchrony to transfer and store your personal information across national boundaries for purposes described in this Statement. We also may disclose your information (i) if we are required or permitted to do so by law or legal process, (ii) to law enforcement authorities, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.
We also may aggregate information that we gather about our customers, sales, traffic patterns, and services and provide these statistics to our Service Providers, Affiliates and Business Partners in aggregate form. This information may include data regarding your "Likes," posts, and comments. This aggregated information is not personally identifiable.
We reserve the right to transfer any information we have about you in the event that all or part of Synchrony or all or part of its assets are acquired by, merged with, sold to, or otherwise disposed of to one or more third parties (including, without limitation, in the event of bankruptcy).

YOUR CHOICES
If you accept an invitation to join the Site, and later decide that you do not want to participate in or use the Site, you can send an email to synchronyconnect@synchronyfinancial.com (use the subject line "Synchrony Connect Opt Out" and including your name and e-mail address).
If you are a Site user and decide you want to leave a particular group or community, you can click on the "Leave" button at any time. Other members of the Site may have selected you for membership in one or more communities or groups that they believe may interest you. If you do not wish to be a part of a pre-selected group, you may click the "Leave" button at any time.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to ask us to refrain from sharing your personal information (whether collected online or offline) with our Service Providers, Affiliates (if the Affiliates are separate legal entities) or Business Partners for their own marketing purposes. Because we do not share your personal information with our Affiliates, Service Providers or Business Partners for their own marketing purposes, this right to opt-out is not applicable to information collected through the Site.

E-MAIL COMMUNICATION AND ONLINE SURVEYS
Occasionally, we will send you e-mail communications with information about our products and services or about offerings from our Affiliates or Business Partners. When you first provide us with your e-mail address, you will be given the choice to direct us not to send you marketing communications. We will also include instructions in our e-mail messages on how to unsubscribe if you later decide you do not want to receive any future marketing communications from us or from our Affiliates or Business Partners.
At times, we conduct online surveys/polls to better understand the needs, profiles and experience of our visitors. You will be given the option of not participating in such surveys/polls.

STEPS WE TAKE DESIGNED TO PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
At Synchrony, our goal is to protect your personal information submitted to us through this Site. We and our Service Providers have implemented technical and organizational measures designed to protect against loss or unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of the information you provide on our Site. We instruct our employees with access to your personal information that it must be used only in adherence with the principles set forth in this Statement and applicable laws. Employees who misuse customer information are subject to disciplinary action.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account username and password. We recommend that you choose a unique password for your Site account and that you do not use any password that you also use for any other accounts which may contain your sensitive information, such as financial accounts or e-mail accounts. You agree to immediately notify Synchrony of any unauthorized use of your password or account or any other breach of security. We will not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this provision.
We will retain the personal information of active Site users in compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations. We will disable the account and profile of inactive users after 12 months, but we will continue to retain the personal information of such users for an additional 12 months, at which point the information will be deleted with the exception of such users' posts, comments, images, links and documents, which we will continue to retain.

OTHER INFORMATION COLLECTORS
This Statement only applies to the use and disclosure of information we collect from visitors online through this Site. Our Site may include links to the sites of our Affiliates, Business Partners or others. The privacy practices or policies of those sites may be different from ours. Information you disclose to other parties or through such sites is subject to the privacy practices and policies of those parties or sites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or your use of these linked sites.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY STATEMENT
We reserve the right to modify or supplement this Statement at any time. If we make any material change to the Statement, we will update our Site to include such changes. We recommend that you review this Statement regularly for changes.
